1970s Omega Seamaster Chronograph (Ref. 176.007)

This Omega Seamaster chronograph oozes 70s watchmaking excellence. The matte blue dial with a white outer tachymetre track, black subdials, and bright orange center minutes hand has a very sporty and youthful appearance, especially with its 38mm square-tonneau style case. Even so, the true beauty of this watch is in the movement.

The Omega cal. 1040 that powers this Seamaster is a modified Lemania 1340 Movement and boasts a handful of helpful complications. Omega made the cal. 1040 their own by bumping jewel count from 17 to 22 and by adding a 24-hour indicator inside the running seconds subdial. The hour recorder is located at the 6 o'clock position and the center minutes recorder is made recognizable by its bright orange airplane style hand. This movement feature a date complication at the 3 o'clock and the movement beats at 28,800 bph. This movement can be seen in the Speedmaster Mark IV as well as the limited edition 1973 Speedmaster 125.
