1970s Michel Herbelin 200m Automatic Diver
There's nothing quite like an enigmatic French dive watch from the 1970s to renew your faith in the fun and variety of vintage watches. Not much is known about this little French brand besides that originally the watches were made under the name Impec in 1947 before a change to Michel Herbelin in 1960. Thankfully widespread knowledge of the brand, outside of its wonderful and quirky mysteriousness, is unnecessary to appreciate a beautiful 70s dive watch when we see it.

CASE & BRACELET
The stainless steel case measures 38-millimeters, a size nearly unthinkable in today's dive watches and therefore welcome in its novelty. The case shows light wear but otherwise is in wonderful condition, with the same holding true for the black dive bezel and its beautiful hint of yellow tritium. The piece features both a screw-down case, and is accompanied by an O.D. green NATO strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The black dial matches the rotating bezel in color but surpasses it in design elements. The dial features a mix of block and trapezoid-shaped markers, even including added numerals for 6, 9, and 12. It wears a remarkable set of broad sword-shaped hands, perfect in their age outside of a small hole in the tritium of the minute hand. The set is made perfect by the inclusion of a tritium lollipop hand for the sweeping seconds. Throw in a white-bordered, roulette date wheel and you have the perfect everyday watch dripping in untouchable vintage charm.
