Tudor
1979 Tudor "Snowflake" Submariner (Ref. 94010) Blue Dial
The Tudor “Snowflake” is the nickname given to the Tudor Submariners that have distinct features like square hour markers and a unique handset where the hour hand resembles a snowflake, hence the nickname. Rolex/Tudor introduced this dial and hand configuration to increase visibility in low-light conditions. The Tudor Snowflakes were produced from 1968 to the mid-1980s and were produced with either black or blue dial colorations. The Snowflakes were also made with or without a date complication.
The Tudor Snowflake Submariners, much like the other Submariners produced by Rolex and Tudor, have a long-standing history and were supplied to military forces, including the U.S. Navy and the Marine Nationale (French Navy)

CASE & BRACELET
The impressively well-preserved case retains crisp factory chamfers with thick and symmetrical lugs that show honest signs of gentle use and only nominal evidence of being previously polished. The original Mk III "fat font" bezel insert is in flawless condition, remaining deep blue in color with no fading or signs of use present, and retaining its tritium pearl which matches the dial patina nicely. The case retains its original Rolex signed trip-lock crown. The case back retains crisp factory engravings and features minimal wear. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 10 links that show minimal stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original matte blue dial is in virtually perfect condition, showing no damage or notable elements of age. The tritium lume plots have aged to a creamy golden patina and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged to a slightly more saturated yellow patina than the dial and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light.
