Patek Philippe

1990s Patek Philippe Moonphase (Ref. 5015G) 18K WG

Patek Philippe is one of the world’s most prestigious luxury watch brands that, as the ads say, you never quite own, you simply look after for the next generation. And this reference 5015G is very much worth looking after.

First introduced in 1994, the Patek Philippe reference 5015G is a moon phase power reserve featuring a 35.5mm 18K white gold case and self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 240 movement.

There are several things that make this reference so desirable. First, there’s the classic stepped-hobnail treatment around the bezel, a style that has become synonymous with the brand ever since its introduction on the first Calatrava in 1932. Then there’s the hinged case back—also known as an officers-style case back—that offers a glimpse at the immaculate 29-jewel caliber 240 movement, which was patented in 1977 and has been used in some of Patek’s most iconic references. Rounding it all out is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a stark white porcelain dial with offset constant seconds & power reserve indicator.

CASE & BRACELET

The unpolished 18k white gold case is in extremely well-preserved condition, retaining its factory finishing on the case and clean lugs, showing only very light signs of use. The 18k white gold bezel is also in excellent condition with little signs of use present. The watch retains its original onion-style crown. The case back also remains in excellent condition with minimal signs of use visible. The watch is finished with its original black alligator leather strap with a matching Patek Philippe signed 18K white gold tang buckle.

DIAL & HANDS

The flawless white porcelain dial features an aysmetric assotment of complications including a moon phase, running seconds, and power reserve indicator at 10 o’clock, 4, and 7, respectively. Black Arabic numerals, black oxidized gold spade hands, and a railway-style outer minute track complete the quintessentially classic look.
