1980s Heuer Automatic Chronograph (Ref. 750.502) Original PVD

One of the great attributes of the Heuer brand is they were never afraid to try something new and different, and in the 1980s Heuer began experimenting with PVD finishing on some of their chronographs. The most famous is the "Top Gun" chronograph that was manufactured by Heuer for Orfina and the Porsche Design brand, Heuer did their own version called the "Pasadena" and also produced one for Lejour as well. The Heuer ref. 750.501 is a slight variation on the original "Top Gun" design, though it utilizes the same Valjoux cal. 7750 movement, the ref. 705.501 only features a date complication and not a day complication like the others. This change in the movement, along with glossy accents around the edges of the sub-dials and a slight change in the case shape make for a wearing experience a little more covert and subtle while maintaining that charm of the early Heuer chronograph cases.
