1968 Smiths W10 "British Army Issued"

There's something so special about military issued timepieces, and this goes for double when talking about the Smiths W10, which was the last watch made entirely in England. Produced from 1967-1970, the Smiths W10 was issued to troops in the British Army. Variations of the W10 were issued to the RAF and British Navy as well. Shortly after the production of the W10 Smiths ran into financial trouble and had to close their doors in the 70s, unfortunately ceasing production of the last English made timepieces.

The W10 checks every military timepiece box; fixed spring bars, military and contract engravings on the case back, and most importantly the classic matte black dial with contrasting white Arabic numerals, and the signature circled T to signify the use of tritium as a luminous material.
