Jenny

1970's Jenny Caribbean 1500

The Jenny & Cie S.A. brand was established in 1963 in Lengnau, Switzerland by Paul G. Jenny, the son of original company founder Gustav Jenny. Jenny was the first brand to create a 1,000-metre water-resistant dive watch; the Caribbean 1000.

The Jenny brand was the behind the scenes case designer for many of the dive watches produced throughout the 60s and 70s, including Aquadive, Fortis, and Ollechs & Wajs. Their success as a dive watch brand came largely from the ingenuity of the "Jenny Triple-Safe” case design, which employs a large monobloc case.

In the 1960s the Jenny achieved what Rolex and OMEGA could not. Managing to produce a dive watch that could safely reach 1,000 feet (304.8m), an astonishing accomplishment for the era. Even the Rolex Submariner could only reach 660 feet at the time. By 1967, Rolex had created the Sea-Dweller that could reach 2,000 feet. However, Jenny had already accomplished this depth rating by 1964.
