Omega

*Unpolished* 1970s Omega Seamaster Automatic (Ref. 166.0213) "TV Case"

The world of vintage Omega is vast, filled with interesting and unique references, unlike almost any other manufacturer. This is true whether one wishes to get weird with a racing, dress, diving, or any other category. Omega has them all. The 1970s especially were a time when the watch world as a whole really tested the limits of design, of what a watch could be and how it could look, not just what it could do. And possibly none more so than Omega.

CASE & BRACELET

The unpolished 36-millimeter stainless steel case shows minimal signs of use for its 50 years of age. The case is sharp and beveled, featuring a sunburst finish. One of our favorite parts of this watch is the fitted end links connecting the signed Omega bracelet to the case. They were perfectly designed to complete the shape of the case and create a singular streamlined look. They even fit into the case along the same eye line as the 11 and 1 o'clock markers on the top side and the 5 and 7 o'clock markers on the bottom, achieving an ease of design, remarkable in its hidden simplicity. The Omega 1286/249 brick-link bracelet retains 36 links that show no stretch from use.

DIAL & HANDS

The flawless dial is a beautiful dark silver with black inlaid stainless steel hour markers. The dial has a matte appearance but upon closer inspection, you'll notice a fantastic and subtle brushed texture. The hour markers are capped with intact and lightly aged tritium markers, a matching feature to the tritium-filled steel hands.

ACCESSORIES
