Nivada Grenchen
Manual Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver (Ref. 86007M04) 'Broad Arrow' W/ Bracelet
Nivada Grenchen was founded in 1926 in Grenchen, Switzerland. But the brand’s aspirations were never to be a full-fledged “manufacture,” instead choosing to focus on sourcing established manufacturer’s movements and then crafting purpose-built pieces that were both stylish and affordable.
After succumbing to the quartz crisis and closing their proverbial doors in the early ‘80s, enthusiasts were left to cling to their vintage models and wax nostalgic. That was until 2018, when those doors were flung back open with the re-introduction of a handful of their most coveted models, including the Chronomaster, Depthmaster, and Super Antarctic, each fantastic and faithful interpretations of their predecessors.
Originally released in 1961 as a “super-chronograph,” the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver is the watch that Nivada Grenchen is most well-known for – and the one with possibly the longest name on the market. It’s a MacGuyver-like watch, perfectly adept whether you’re racing around a track, diving to the ocean’s depths, or flying through the clouds, and one that does so while looking incredibly good on the wrist at the same time.
This Chronomaster features a matte black dial, a black bezel insert, and the iconic Broad Arrow hands with a slight faux patina lume in them as well as in the indices. It's powered by the manually-wound Sellita SW510 BH B movement, and is completed with a beads of rice-style stainless steel bracelet.
