1979 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 1680) 18k YG
The Rolex Submariner ref. 1680 is a stunning classic. First introduced in 1969, the ref. 1680 includes the date, unlike previous Submariners (ie. Ref. 5512 and 5513). The infamous Red Submariner is also a ref. 1680 which has the word "Submariner" in red lettering and was produced by Rolex from 1969-1975.
This rare execution of the Rolex ref. 1680 is highly revered by gold vintage watch enthusiasts. With a much lower production number than the stainless steel variation, these gold references have become highly sought after. From the boat to the boardroom, this executive piece was originally for the businessman with a taste for adventure.

CASE & BRACELET
The stunning unpolished 18k yellow gold case shows sharp factory chamfers, straight lug holes, and very little wear from use. The gold hallmarks remain clearly visible on the back of the lugs. The original black "fat font" bezel insert, missing the tritium pearl, remains in wonderful vintage condition. The case retains its original trip-lock crown. Watch will come supplied on a two-piece leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The stunning matte black nipple dial remains in near flawless condition. The lume plots remain fully intact showing no lume degradation under U.V. light inspection, and have aged to a charming ivory coloration. The original tritium gold handset remains in excellent condition showing no lume loss when inspected under U.V. light and matches the dial coloration perfectly. The gold date wheel is era correct with open 6's and 9's.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch was recently serviced and is running at COSC spec. backed by a 1 year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
