The Omega Speedmaster Professional is undoubtedly a beloved chronograph. Its rich history began with its involvement in automotive racing before transitioning to aviation and becoming a crucial part of NASA's U.S. Space Program. The vintage Omega Speedmaster collection boasts a range of references, each with its own subtle differences that add to the overall individuality of each timepiece.

This may seem like your stock standard Omega Speedmaster Professional from the early 1970s, but that's what makes this sleeping giant so special. This variant of the Speedmaster Professional is extremely transitional as it retains many elements of the "Pre-Moon" with some additional exclusive attributes. Most notably, this ref. 145.022-69 ST features an extremely rare "220" error tachymetre bezel, which was technically produced by mistake and is believed to have only been produced for less than a month. This variant possesses a "pie-pan" matte black dial and a "pre-moon" case back even though it was manufactured after the moon landing. All of these details add up to a super unique Speedmaster that flies under the radar.

The Speedmaster, whether paired with a bracelet or a handcrafted leather strap, is a visually stunning timepiece. It is one of our favorite chronographs due to its elegant design and practical functionality. Its ability to seamlessly blend with both formal and casual attire makes it an ideal choice for those seeking their first vintage timepiece or a classic daily wearer.
