*Unpolished* 1979 Rolex Datejust 18K YG (Ref. 16018) Blue "Tropical" Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved models made by Rolex. Launched in 1945, it remains a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of superior quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be in jeans and a t-shirt. The Rolex Datejust ref. 16018 is a transitional reference as it retains tritium lume but features a sapphire crystal and the Rolex cal. 3035 “quick-set date” movement.

CASE & BRACELET
The incredibly crisp, near-mint, 18K yellow gold case remains in unpolished condition, featuring a perfectly oxidized dark patina throughout the case and bracelet, while showing almost no signs of previous use. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel is also unpolished and just as crisp as the case, with no notable signs of past use present. The unpolished case back partially retains its original factory sticker. The original 18K yellow gold Rolex Jubilee bracelet with solid ends retains 21 links that show almost no stretch and will fit up to an 8-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The beautifully aged sunburst blue dial has achieved a remarkable gold fleck "tropical" patina present throughout the entire dial. Apart from the aesthetically enhancing patina, the dial exhibits no actual damage. The tritium lume plots and hands have achieved a matching golden-beige patina. Under UV light inspection, the only element of degradation is some lume loss to the 3 o'clock plot, which is very common. The metallic gold date wheel is original with "open" 6 and 9 numerals.

None. The watch is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
