1970s Heuer Bundeswehr Flyback Chronograph 'Civilian Model' (Ref. 1550 SG) "Tiny T" Dial

$ 5,500

The Bundeswehr chronographs were a general Issue chronograph for several military forces which included the German Federal Defense Force and even the Norwegian Air Force throughout the 1960s and 70s. More uncommonly, however, examples lacking the military markings on the case and dial were made available to the civilian market.

This specific ref. 1550 SG retains its original "Tiny T" dial which has a very simple dial design, only featuring the "Heuer" logo and a miniscule "T" above the 6 o'clock numeral.

CASE & BRACELET

The robust case retains strong dimensions, crisp lug holes, and exhibits honest signs of gentle use, showing only a subtle sleeve polishing on the top sides of the lugs. The bidirectional rotating bezel is in excellent condition showing only minimal signs of use. The watch retains its original small pushers, though the crown appears to be an early replacement. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc nylon strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The matte black “Tiny T” dial is in wonderful vintage condition, with the only elements of age being a few tonal marks. The tritium Arabic Numerals have taken on a charming green coloration and display no degradation when inspected under UV light. The hands are all era-correct and retain original lume, but have aged to different colors which could mean they were replaced at some point. Under UV light inspection, the minute hand displays a superficial crack in the lume near its point and is stable, and the hour and chronograph hands exhibit no degradation.

ACCESSORIES
