Omega
1966 Omega De Ville Automatic 14K YG (Ref. 161.022) 'Cal. 711'
The world of vintage Omega is vast and full of character—few manufacturers offer such a wide range of distinctive and innovative designs across categories as diverse as racing chronographs, dress pieces, and professional divers. Whatever your preference, Omega has explored it with creativity and precision.
Originally introduced in the early 1960s as a sub-line within the Seamaster collection, the De Ville quickly stood out for its refined, dress-oriented aesthetic. Its popularity prompted Omega to establish it as an independent collection in 1967—a role it continues to hold today as one of the brand’s most enduring and design-forward lines, known for blending understated elegance with distinctive mid-century flair.
Powering this example is Omega’s cal. 711, the thinnest automatic movement the brand ever produced, measuring an impressive 3mm in height. It is housed in a beautifully preserved 14K yellow gold “TV-style” case, a quintessential expression of late-1960s design that perfectly complements the movement’s refined proportions and technical sophistication.
