The Rolex Submariner ref. 16800 was first introduced in late 1979 and was the first Rolex Submariner model to include a sapphire crystal, a unidirectional click-spring bezel, and the Rolex cal. 3035 quickest movement, all of which cumulate to one of the most momentous technical updates in Submariner history model to model.

CASE & BRACELET
The impressive and well-preserved case is believed to remain unpolished, boasting crisp factory chamfers and finishing throughout with honest signs of use present. The original bezel insert exhibits some light honest wear and remains deep black with the tritium pearl intact. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 593 end pieces retains 10 links that show gentle stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The glossy black dial with white gold surround markers exhibits a subtle, yet charming even matte texture in the dial that is both common and desired in this era, though no actual damage is present. The tritium lume has aged to a golden-yellow patina and exhibits no degradation under UV light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged to match the dial perfectly and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light. The white date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
