1945 Rolex Oyster Precision (Ref. 4499)
The Rolex ref. 4499 wore many hats when the model was introduced in the 1940s, one of which was the first reference to bear the iconic "Air-King" name, however, several "Oyster Precision" models were created under the same reference as well. Rolex signified its more economical timepieces with the text "Precision" printed on the dial. These watches carried in-house movements that were very well-made, and manually wound.

CASE & BRACELET
The early Oyster case features lug holes only on the left side of the case along with longer lugs which give the watch a larger wrist presence than later 34mm Oyster case models. The case remains in very impressive condition, showing thick and symmetrical lugs that have been gently polished in the past and show minimal signs of use. The crown is an OEM Rolex service twin-lock crown. The case back displays some light wear and is in great overall condition. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and beautifully preserved dial has achieved a stunning creamy patina throughout and is in exceptional condition. The charismatic gold Arabic numerals add a unique yet sophisticated style to the watch and are in excellent condition. The original leaf-style hands are also in excellent condition and add to the overall elegance of the watch.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time, but the service history is unknown. A movement service can be provided upon request.
