1969 Tudor Date-Day (Ref. 7020) "Jumbo" Blue Dial
We present to you, the Tudor Date-Day. The less precious, equally functional, and absurdly funky counterpart to the Rolex Day-Date. The Tudor Date-Day was the economical offering of the iconic Rolex model, however, that didn't limit Tudor from being, well -- Tudor. Using the brand's spirited creativity, awesome concoctions of Tudor watches were created on this platform. The Date-Day was offered in a 36mm case size, similar to the Rolex Day-Date, as well as a 39mm known as the "Jumbo". The Tudor Date-Date was only produced in stainless steel and two-tone, unlike the Rolex Day-Date which is only produced in precious metals, and featured unique dial features and designs.
The ref. 7020 Tudor Date-Day is a favorite reference amongst collectors for its enigma-like design. The ref. 7020 isn't really a dress watch and not exactly a sports watch either. This is mainly due in part to the combination of the sporty rotating bezel and enlarged case size with a more conservative dial design. This amalgamation of components makes for a fun all-rounder timepiece that is functional enough to daily wear and spark a conversation at your local watch get-together.
