1971 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1603) Silver Linen Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt.
We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication. Perfectly worn in any setting from formal to casual. The silver "Linen" dial is uncommon and very much desirable among the vintage Rolex collector community as it is striking and gets its nickname from the texture of the dial pattern which is reminiscent of linen cloth.

The stainless steel engine turned bezel is in crisp and unpolished condition with minimal signs of use. The Rolex "U.S.A. Made" oval-link Jubilee bracelet retains 19 links and shows stretch from use, which is common for this style bracelet and its age.
DIAL & HANDS
The silver "pie-pan" linen dial is simply exceptional, the dial shows no imperfections or signs of age. The tritium lume plots have taken on a subtle creamy patina and remain full and round, showing no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and exhibit no degradation or lume loss when inspected under U.V. light. The silver date wheel is era correct with open 6's and 9's.
