1972 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1603) Black "Confetti" Dial
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever made. This classic dress watch has been produced by the Swiss luxury watchmaker since 1945 and has remained a timeless classic that is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust was designed for everyday wear, and its sleek and elegant design makes it one of the most universally loved watches for both men and women.

The multi-colored "confetti" dials are coveted among collectors, not only for the sheer rarity of these dials but also for the subtle yet vibrant details that are truly unique among Rolex dials as a whole. The term "confetti" is in reference to the compilation of individual colors that make up the single base color of the dial, creating a colorful and speckled dial appearance when observed up close.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case retains full and even lugs that show sharp brushing and edges with little wear and light evidence of being polished in the past. The stainless steel engine-turned bezel is in very crisp condition with light signs of use present. The Rolex roll-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces features an OEM 62510H service clasp and retains 21 links that show normal stretch for the style and age of the bracelet and will fit up to a 7.75-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The uncommon and remarkable matte black "confetti" dial is in near-perfect condition, showing no damage or age to the dial itself. This specific example features a heavy "confetti" texture comprised of red, green, and blue speckling. The tritium lume plots have achieved a charming creamy patina, and all the lume plots remain intact, with only the 3 o'clock showing minor degradation when inspected under UV light. The original tritium hands coordinate nicely with the dial, having aged a shade lighter than the dial, and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection. The metallic date wheel is original with "open" 6 and 9 numerals.
