[RARE] Movado Datron Pilot Ref. 01-0160-435

It is said that only 500 examples of the Movado Datron Pilot were ever produced by Movado during the late 1960's into the early 1970's. Although Movado as a brand released water-resistant wristwatches in the mid-1930's, by the early 1960s  Movado was producing a professional range of watches to contend with the era's greater-known offerings from names like Rolex, Omega, Heuer & Tudor. During the mid to late 1960's Movado and Zenith started working together. In this time the two brands shared their movements as similar feature sets in their timepiece offerings, which can be seen in the Movado SubSea range of chronographs. This specific Movado Datron Pilot is no exception to this as it houses the Zenith 3019PHC automatic chronograph movement.

Movado Datron HS-360 PILOT El Primero

This specific piece is what we like to call a "Time Capsule" here at craft and tailored due to the fact that it is in flawless vintage condition. The Movado Datron Pilot Chronographs are becoming increasingly harder to find especially in this condition as the collector market is holding onto examples such as the one we are featuring here at Craft & Tailored. This piece looks just as good on its super funky and 70's vibe stainless steel bracelet as it does on a vintage strap, and the oversized case makes this an eye-catching chronograph that is still size appropriate with today's larger watch case size preference.
