*Unpolished* 1984 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513)

The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513 was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models. In 1983 the Rolex Submariner Ref 5513 experienced a transition with the dial format that was offered within the reference. Rolex transitioned away from the previously offered matte dial's which entered production in late 1966 and moved to the more modern and contemporary dial that featured a glossy dial pared with white gold luminous-filled plots and hands ending the matte dial era for the Submariner. This same dial can still be seen in modern Rolex production even to this day.

This 1984 Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513 is in absolutely stunning condition and would make a versatile daily driver. Appropriate in a wide variety of settings, from casual everyday wear to pairing perfectly with a suit or sports coat. This Ref. 5513 is everything we love about vintage "no-date" Submariners, but with some of the modern nuances that make it wonderfully functional. Perfect as a new addition to an existing collection, or would be a unique stand-alone vintage piece.

CASE & BRACELET

The unpolished case is exceptional, retaining sharp chamfers and crisp factory brushing on the lugs, with light signs of honest use throughout. The unpolished bezel is in excellent condition as well, and the original bezel insert is very impressive with only minimal signs of use and it also retains its tritium pearl at the 12 o'clock position which matches the dial patina perfectly. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 10 links that show no stretch from use.

DIAL & HANDS

The original glossy dial with white gold surround markers is absolutely stunning, the dial itself has aged to achieve a handsome semi-matte finish that is visible in the sunlight. The tritium lume plots have aged to a vibrant golden patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and show no degradation, the sweep-seconds hand does exhibit corrosion which is common.

ACCESSORIES

None. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping time perfectly, backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
