1940s Marvin Dress Watch 14K RG "Gilt" Dial

In the world of watches, for every household name like Rolex or Omega, there are droves of others that fly under the radar but still posses tons of value and style. Marvin Watch Co. was created in 1850 by two brothers Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim, in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland. The brand remains in existence today, however, their offering revolves around ultra contemporary, yet affordable designs.

Presented here, is a classic dress watch design from the 1940s, executed in 14K rose gold with a remarkable glossy black gilt dial with a sub-seconds register. Hidden inside the watch reveals a nugget of its history, as the watch was given as a gift for 25 years of service to the Joseph Horne Company, a now dissolved department store from Pittsburg Pennsylvania.
