Omega

1961 Omega Geneve (Ref. 2903-61) Cal. 268 "Crosshair Dial"

While Omega is best known for its Seamaster and Speedmaster lines, there are plenty of other tertiary offerings that the brand has released over the years that deserve their fair share of recognition.

The collection of watches released under the Geneve moniker certainly fall into that bucket. Created both as an homage to Omega's Geneva-based craftsmen and to celebrate the records set by their watches at the Geneva Observatory, the name "Geneve" first began appearing on Omega watches in the early '50s. Ultimately, the Geneve-branded watches became known for deftly blending the technical precision Omega was known for—particularly by using the same high-quality movements found in the Seamaster and Dynamic lines—with slightly more modern design cues targeted at a younger generation.

Case in point, this Ref. 2903-61, which features the fantastic, manually-wound cal. 268 movement, a perfectly proportioned case, and a shimmery silver "crosshair" dial with running seconds subdial.

Despite being over 60 years old, it's as cool and timeless as ever.
