1967 Omega Seamaster 120 (Ref. 135.027) "Manual Wind"

Vintage Omega Seamaster 120

There is something about the early vintage Omega Seamsters that truly embodies the golden era of dive watches of the 1960-1970s. Omega has a long history and heritage in dive watches, which dates back to the 1930s. The seahorse-adorned case back of the Seamaster series pays tribute to Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. The seahorse logo was conceived by engraver Jean-Pierre Borle. He was inspired by an image of Neptune driving a chariot pulled by seahorses, which is why the Omega seahorses are depicted wearing bridles.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent case is appears to have received a gentle polishing in its past as the factory case dimensions and angels remain present. The original bezel shows some wear, has faded to an obvious grey coloration, and retains its tritium pearl at the 12 o'clock position. The case retains its original Omega-signed winding crown. The original case back engravings remain deep and clearly visible. The watch comes supplied on a black NATO strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The handsome matte black dial is in wonderful overall condition showing no notable signs of age and no damage. The tritium lume has developed a handsome creamy patina, showing no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged slightly darker than the dial, under U.V. light inspection the hour hand exhibits minor cracking and remains stable, the minute hand remains fully intact.
