1967 Rolex Datejust 18K YG (Ref. 1602) Onyx Stone Dial W/ Rare Gold Mesh Bracelet
On an extremely limited basis, Rolex manufactured timepieces featuring exotic materials. Such as dials made from various minerals, woods, and stones, including black onyx, burl wood, lapis lazuli, birch, fossil, coral, aventurine, and ferrite, among others… These exotic variants are always strikingly vivid with a minimalist design, and each exotic variant was produced in very limited numbers. Though rarity varied between materials, and the rarer a material was, the less Rolex produced.
The Datejust stone dials are elusive, as Rolex stone dials are most commonly seen in the Day-Date references. The onyx stone pairs perfectly with the gold Datejust, creating depth in the dial that is rarely seen in a wristwatch and is loved by collectors.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent 18K yellow gold case retains full and symmetrical lugs that show light evidence of being polished in the past, with signs of gentle wear present. The serial number is present, but very faint due to polishing, and the case reference number is no longer visible. The rare smooth 18K yellow gold bezel is in excellent condition, showing minimal evidence of polishing and honest signs of light wear. The watch comes supplied on a very rare and truly incredible Rolex 18K yellow gold woven mesh bracelet, which remains in excellent, unsized condition, with no apparent stretch from wear present, though the mesh does feature an inherent movement due to its composition. The bracelet will fit between a 7.25-inch and 8.25-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The deep black Onyx stone dial is in excellent incredible, with no cracks present whatsoever, though there is some fading present in the dial text. The solid yellow gold hands are in excellent condition. The metallic gold date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time, but the service history is unknown. A movement service can be purchased upon request.
