1970 Hamilton Chrono-Diver "Big Eye" Chronograph

Hamilton Chrono-Diver Chronograph "Big Eye"

The Hamilton Chrono-Diver, is commonly referred to as the “Big Eye” due to its dual and somewhat large sub dial registers. Hamilton introduced the reference in 1970, and it is a cushion style cased chronograph model with a rotating diver’s bezel which is a differentiating feature not commonly found on chronograph models and references of the same era.

The watch is 38mm in diameter and has some very cool but subtle elements which place this into the middle of 70's era design. The matte grey dial is accompanied by two white subdials which each have black chrono hands. The minute track around the outside of the dial is a deep and dark red color paired with a set of white luminous filled hands and a red chronograph hand. The block trapezoidal markers are also fitting and a nice 70's era element that makes this specific Hamilton chronograph different. The Hamilton Chrono-Diver comes equipped with a  bullet proof swiss made Valjoux 7733 movement which Hamilton dubbed the 647. This would make a great daily driver and is not only a vintage piece with defining and different details but also retains a classic look that would pair well with a suit in a formal setting but offers versatility and would also find itself placed well within a casual setting.
