1970s Certina DS-2 Chronolympic (Ref. 8601 800) Blue Dial

In 1888 two brothers, Adolf and Alfred Kurth opened a watch movement and watchmaking supplies factory in Grenchen, Switzerland. By 1906, the company started creating complete watches under the moniker, Grana. By 1924, the company had registered its name as Certina. From producing automatic movements for Hamilton to supplying the US Navy with superior dive watches for their Sealab-II experiments in 1965, to living on the wrist of Muhammad Ali, Certina has been a heavyweight player with an underdog presence for decades.

This watch is a perfect example of Certina's ability to create a tough, functional, and attractive timepiece that will stand the test of time but won't break the bank. This easy-to-read chronograph is in excellent condition and features a date complication at the 6 o'clock.
