1972 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Grey Dial

The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made. This specific 1972 Datejust Ref. 1601 retains its original Grey "pie-pan" stick marker dial and is in excellent condition with its original Jubilee bracelet and white gold fluted bezel. CASE & BRACELET

The excellent case is incredibly crisp, showing sharp angles in the case geometry and pronounced finishing throughout. The case exhibits minimal signs of previous polishing and gentle signs of use. The white gold fluted bezel is unpolished and is in exceptional condition with minimal signs of previous use. The case back also retains crisp finishing. The Rolex rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces features a servcie 62510H clasp and retains 22 links that show normal stretch for the age and style of the bracelet, the bracelet will fit up to a 7 3/4-inch wrist.

DIAL & HANDS

The original grey sunburst "pie-pan" dial is in very well-preserved condition, showing no damage and some very gentle signs of age at the edge of the dial that doesn't effect the watches aesthetic value. The tritium lume plots have achieved a warm creamy patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfect and exhibit some subtle oxidation but no degradation when inspection under U.V. light. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.

ACCESSORIES 

None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, previous service history is unknown.
