1977 Rolex Day-Date (Ref. 1803) 18K YG "Lemon Minute Track Dial"
"The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it had been rumored that President Dwight Eisenhower began wearing one, however, Eisenhower wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1953. However the nickname President is quite fitting for the day date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date and is a symbol of status and luxury as the Rolex Day-Date is only made in precious metals most commonly 18k yellow gold and possesses both the day and date complications within the movement.
This 1977 Rolex Day-Date ref. 1803 retains its original and sought-after satin lemon minute track "pie-pan" dial. This Day-Date ref. 1803 is simply stunning and would be a wonderful addition to any collection as an executive piece that would stand out from the crowd.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent 18k yellow gold case has been lightly polished and retains strong and symmetrical lugs, the top left lug does exhibit a slight dent on its top corner. The 18k yellow gold fluted bezel remains unpolished and is in great overall condition, showing only light signs of previous use. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The rare satin lemon minute track "pie-pan" dial is simply flawless, showing no blemishes or signs of age. The tritium lume plots have aged to an attractive yellow coloration and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The metallic gold date wheel is correct with open 6's and 9's.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch is keeping time and functioning perfectly, previous service history is unknown.
