The 1016 Explorer was one of the longest-produced Rolex watches, and has become a cornerstone piece for any Rolex collection that can hold its own. Although the Explorer ref. 1016 was produced for a long period of time, it has become one of the more elusive references in recent years due to the simple fact that Rolex didn't manufacture very many during its tenure. CASE & BRACELET
The very thick and impressive case retains crisp finishing and symmetrical lugs that exhibit minimal signs of previous polishing or signs of use. The smooth stainless steel bezel is also very clean with very minimal signs of previous use present. The Rolex original Rolex 78360 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 11 links that show subtle stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original matte black Mk V dial is in truly exceptional and well-preserved condition, with no damage present and the only elements of age being nominal in nature. The tritium lume plots and numerals feature a charming creamy patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, under U.V. light inspection no actual degradation is shown though there is some superficial surface cracking on the minute and hour hands.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes complete with its original inner and outer boxes, Rolex Guarantee paper, booklets, and accessories. The watch is keeping time, backed by our 1-year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
