1990 Rolex Explorer II (Ref. 16570) W/ Guarantee Paper
The Rolex Explorer II Ref. 16570 was introduced in 1989 and was the predecessor to the Rolex Explorer II ref. 16550. The Rolex Ref. 16550 and Ref. 16570 look very similar but do have some big differences. The Explorer II reference 16570, featured a newer type of movement the caliber 3185 and later the 3186 which offered the jumping hour hand.The black dial and fixed stainless steel bezel are not only handsome in looks but also extremely functional. The cal. 3185 movement with its jumping hour hand and accompanying GMT hand make this an ideal piece for the frequent traveler as it's easy to set and track dual time zones. The black dial makes a statement without being overly flashy and it looks just as good on its Oyster bracelet as it does on a leather strap or nylon Nato.

CASE & BRACELET
The case appears to have been lightly polished in the past and retains very full and even lugs that show gentle signs of use. The fixed stainless steel 24hr bezel remains unpolished with light signs of use and retains all of its original factory enamel. The Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 501 B end pieces is also in wonderful condition and was sourced with the piece, the bracelet retains 11 links and shows no stretch from use.
DIAL & HANDS
The glossy black dial with white gold surround markers is exceptional, showing no blemishing or imperfections. The tritium lume plots have aged to a charming ivory patina and show no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely and show no degradation under U.V. light inspection.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes with is original serialized Rolex guarantee paper and chronometer seal hangtag.
