Transitional 1995 "Matte Dial" Tudor Submariner (Ref. 79190) W/ box and cards
The Rolex/Tudor relationship dates back to 1926 when Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex SA, wanted to create a more affordable alternative. But in 1995 Rolex and Tudor although sister companies decided to brand and manufacture components independently offering increased brand differentiation.
The Tudor submariner 79190 uses the 2824-2 quick set movement is the first Tudor submariner to incorporate an upgraded sapphire crystal and unidirectional bezel while still maintaining a matte dial very much similar to the Rolex Ref.16800 submariner.
This would make a great addition to a growing collection or be a great first piece as it retains the classic and timeless look of the Submariner while being a unique addition as a result of the matte dial with improved sapphire crystal and uni-directional clicking bezel!

CASE & BRACELET
The case of this 1995 Ref. 79190 has been previously polished but the lugs remain full and thick. The case back engravings are clear and untouched and the watch also retains its original Rolex signed trip-lock crown. The original 7836 oyster bracelet retains all of its 13 original links, and 380B end pieces. The bezel insert is a deep black color and is free from any scratches or blemishes.
DIAL
The matte black dial of this 1995 Ref. 79190 is in pristine and original condition showing no blemishes. The matte dial is very transitional as the dial that followed this would be produced in gloss with white gold surrounds. The tritium lume on the dial has achieved a creamy patina and is free from any tritium lume degradation when viewed under U.V. light. The hands were replaced by Rolex at the documented service interval with luminova service units.
ACCESSORIES
Included is a Tudor/Rolex serialized service warranty card, the service receipt from its last service and the Rolex service center shipping box. Watch is running at COSC spec.
