2012 Patek Philippe Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar (Ref. 5496P) Platinum W/ Winding Box & Papers
Patek Philippe is one of the world’s most prestigious luxury watch brands, and it is often said that no one does high complications quite like the historic Geneva-based manufacturer. First released in 2011, the Patek Philippe Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar reference 5496P features a 39.5mm solid platinum case that houses the self-winding Caliber 324 S QR, which features a moon-phase complication and a unique retrograde perpetual calendar display. Although there are a few different iterations of the ref. 5496P, this version with the satin silver dial with white gold hands and hour markers represents the inaugural configuration for the model that Patek Philippe first unveiled at Baselworld 2011.
Fitted with a sapphire crystal above the dial with a clear display case back, this full-kit example of the reference 5496P also includes an optional solid platinum case back, along with its original winding box, tools, hang-tags, and paperwork. Completing the watch is a leather Patek Philippe strap with a platinum deployant clasp, and just as you would expect from any Patek Philippe watch crafted from the noblest of metals, the Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar ref. 5496P features a small wesselton diamond set directly between the lugs on the 6 o’clock side of the case.
