1973 Rolex Daytona Ref. 6265 Silver ROC Dial
The Daytona name came in 1964/1965, when Rolex decided to brand the 6263 Cosmograph reference in order to appeal to the auto racing culture of the USA and was also an official sponsor of the Daytona 500 auto race held in Daytona Beach, FL. The Daytona quickly became a chronograph favorite among enthusiast and has grown into a statement of prestige in the horological world.
This specific 1973 example of the Daytona Ref. 6265 is sometimes referred to as a "ROC" dial as this early dial variant only bears the words Rolex Oyster Cosmograph and lacks the Daytona text above the 6:00 subdial. The silver dial with the offset crisp black matte subdials sets the tone for the watch’s appearance. The watch really pops due to the three black sub-dials on the silver dial and The stainless steel bezel is in wonderful and almost perfect condition and frames the dial perfectly
We love the vintage Cosmograph range of due to the fact that they have a high level of contrast which is something the modern Rolex Daytona range of timepieces has lost due to the completely monochromatic look of the dials found on today modern reference range.

CASE & BRACELET
The case of the 1973 Rolex Daytona has been previously polished. The top pusher is a Rolex service replacement. The MK 1 stainless steel bezel is in wonderful condition without any major blemishing or wear. The watch will be supplied on a textured calfskin strap in French Coca on an original Rolex SA stainless steel buckle.
DIAL & HANDS
The excellent ROC silver dial is in wonderful condition. The lume dots have partially flaked off the dial which is common for manual wind Daytonas of this era. The original tritium hands are in good original condition and show no lume degradation when viewed under U.V. light The black sub dials show some light patina and retain a crisp black coloration.
ACCESSORIES
None. The watch was just serviced and is running at COSC spec backed by a one year warranty on accurate timekeeping.
