1964 Omega Constellation (Ref. 168.005) Pie-Pan Dial
While today the Constellation line is overshadowed by Omega's Speedmaster and Seamaster models, the striking Omega Constellation family was once the flagship in the Omega collection.
Dating back to 1952, the Omega Constellation has been regarded as one of the most luxurious and precise watch collections offered by the brand. Add to that the fact that they have always been chronometer rated, and you have a watch that is not only stunning in nearly any setting but also incredibly accurate.
Of the many variations of the Constellation through the years, the most celebrated are those that feature the pie-pan dials from the 1950s and 60s. Apart from the obvious depth the pie-pan effect creates, these watches boast beautiful marker variations and dial details.
Case in point: this 1964 Omega Constellation ref. 168.005, which is absolutely classic and incredibly handsome with its fantastic silver dial, onyx enamel inlaid markers and hands, and original beads of rice bracelet. It would be an excellent classic piece to add to any collection.

CASE & BRACELET
The stainless steel case with angled lugs is believed to remain unpolished with crisp and defined edges and finishing throughout. It retains its original Omega-signed crown. The screw-down case back is clean, showing appropriate signs of use for its age and retaining the constellation medallion at its center. The original Omega 8220 Beads of Rice bracelet with 11 end pieces retains 19 links that show normal stretch for the style and age of the bracelet and will fit up to a 7 1/4 inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The non-luminous "pie-pan" dial is a treat for the eyes and exceptionally well preserved, gracefully displaying subtle aging with no notable blemishes or damage present. The applied logos, ornate markers and onyx enamel inlaid dauphine hands give this watch a sophisticated presence.
