Girard Perregaux

1960s Girard Perregaux Gyromatic Cal. 461-769

It's no secret Girard Perregaux has a deep lineage within Swiss watchmaking history, unofficially forming at the end of the 17th century and formally being announced as Girard Perregaux & Cie in 1852, and during their time since have created some very worthwhile and interesting watches.

The Gryomatic movement cal. 461-769 was Girard Perregaux's in-house automatic winding system, designed in the 1950s and involves two Gyroton wheels that each contain 7 rubies that allowed the automatic winding system to run smoothly and without experiencing excessive wear and tear. The Gryomatic movements are highly regarded amongst enthusiasts for their reliability and accuracy.
