RARE Ikepod Hemipode 18K Rose Gold (#10/10)

Designed by Marc Newson, the Ikepod Hemipode is a modern icon. The Hemipode – named for the watches hemispheric shape - has a monocoque design, meaning it is essentially one piece. The super thin bezel is unscrewed with a special tool and the movement is accessed from above.

This specific example is very rare as it is 1 of 10 ever produced in rose gold - as a matter of fact, it is number 10 out of 10. The watch features Valjoux ETA 7750 movement, modified to accommodate Newson’s design features.   A small sapphire window in the caseback allows a glimpse into the movement. Newson's love of symmetry is seen in the four subdials with one denoting the date and another a 24 hour GMT hand. Newson's design did not stop with the watch itself, the Ikepod Hemipode comes on a specially designed rubber strap that attaches to the case with invisible screws.  The Hemipode is certainly an eye-catching watch and an excellent choice for anyone looking for a truly standout piece.

CASE & BRACELET

Excellent slim design geometrical case shows some typical wear from use, but we believe it to be unpolished as it possesses the factory finishing. The original orange rubber strap accents the case and dial and includes the original 18k rose gold button. The pushers retain the red enamel and like the crown remain in original and flawless condition.

DIAL & HANDS

The eye-catching anthracite dial remains in flawless condition and provides a stunning contrast against the rose gold case. The luminous filled hands retain fully intact and glow intensely when viewed under UV light. The orange sweep seconds hand and subdial hands also remain in factory condition and are free from any degradation or patina.

ACCESSORIES
