*Like New* 2004 Tudor Prince Date Chronograph (Ref. 79280P) "Orange Crush" Dial W/ Papers & Accessories

Tudors long history of iconic chronographs continued into the late nineties and early 2000s with the 79000 series, which directly succeded and improved upon the earlier "Big Block" design. Introduced in 1995, the Tudor Prince Date Chronograph is a true neo-vintage model, featuring a more contemporary design, with a sapphire crystal and reduced case thickness, though it is still considered one of the last "vintage" designs from Tudor.

During this time period, Tudor was entering into a new era as a stand-alone watch company. Tudor's separation from Rolex becomes more evident as the crown, case, and bracelet are all signed Tudor and the dial doesn't feature the text "Oyster." The Price Date Chronographs were produced in a variety of designs, with black fixed bezels, rotating bezels, or steel bezels that closely resemble the Rolex Zenith Daytonas of the same era. However, Tudor also produced "polished" versions that featured unique reference numbers ending with a "P" to represent the unique case finishing, it is generally understood these polished case variants are much less common.

Similar to the Rolex "Stella" dials of the 1970s and 80s, Tudor made the Price Date Chronograph in a large variety of dial colors, including green, red, blue, silver, black, yellow, and orange. The orange dial is widely accepted as the most rare and is seldomly seen for sale on the open market.

Many Tudor ref. 79000 chronographs bear the "Tiger" text underneath the 12 o'clock register, this was done in collaboration with Tiger Woods, though the examples without the "Tiger" signature are generally the most desirable within the collector community.

The original glossy orange "non-tiger" dial is in exceptional condition throughout, showing no damage or age whatsoever to the dial itself. The luminova lume plots remain bright white, under U.V. light inspection 1, 2, 9, and 11 o'clock lume plots feature degradation, which is actually extremely common for these dial variants.
