*Unpolished* 1987 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513)

The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The ref. 5513 was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.

The glossy black dial 5513s were the last variation of the legendary reference that so many iconic people wore and loved. Today, these later models have become highly desirable as they are the bookend to one of the longest-running and most appreciated references Rolex has ever produced. During this time only very few 5513s made it off the production line as Rolex was preparing to introduce its successor, the ref. 14060 Submariner.

CASE & BRACELET

The incredibly sharp unpolished case retains crisp chamfers and lug holes while showing honest signs of light use. The original "thin font" Mk. III bezel insert is very well-preserved showing no fading with almost no signs of use, and the tritium pearl remains intact. The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end pieces retains 10 links that show almost no stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.

DIAL & HANDS

The original glossy black dial with white gold surround markers is in wonderful vintage condition and retains a mirror-like factory finish to the dial. The dial does exhibit some minor spots from age and very subtle hand drag around the dial which is invisible to the naked eye. The tritium lume plots feature a charming eggshell patina and exhibit no degradation under UV light inspection. The original tritium hands have aged a shade lighter than the dial but match overall, under UV light inspection the minute's hand exhibits some surface cracking and remains stable, while the seconds and hour hands remain fully intact.

ACCESSORIES
