These features included a sapphire crystal, an independent ability to set the GMT hand, a thicker case that earned the reference the nickname "Fat Lady", the first GMT to use a black and red insert sometimes referred to as the "Coke" insert and a gloss black dial with white-gold index surrounds. The ref. 16760 is also sometimes referred to as the “Sophia Loren” drawing comparisons between the new curves of the watch and the Italian beauty.

This is a truly exceptional example and is becoming a highly sought after modern classic This piece would make a great stand-alone piece or a great addition to an existing collection!

CASE & BRACELET

The case of this Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 16760 has been previously polished but remains in excellent condition with factory chamfers still slightly present. The original red and black "coke" insert has achieved a beautiful patina, with the black fading to an interesting "navy blue" coloration. The 62510H jubilee bracelet w/502 end pieces shows little wear and some stretch from use.

DIAL & HANDS

The original glossy black dial has taken on a unique and sought-after "spider dial" effect and along with a slight tropical color change to a grey coloration. The tritium lume plots have taken on an excellent golden patina and show no lume loss when inspected under U.V. light. The tritium hands match the lume plots perfectly with some lume loss prevalent in the hour hand and slight cracking in the minute hand.
