1970 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) Light Grey Dial

This 1970 Datejust ref. 1601 retains its original and unique light grey "pie-pan" stick marker dial and is in excellent condition with its original Jubilee bracelet and white gold fluted bezel. CASE & BRACELET
The impressive case retains very thick, sharp, and symmetrical lugs that show honest signs of use with no notable evidence of being polished in the past. The white gold fluted bezel is in crisp, likely unpolished condition, with sharp edges and only light signs of use present. The Rolex 6251H rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces retains 19 links that show minor stretch for the style and age of the bracelet and will fit up to a 6.75-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original and unusual light grey "pie-pan" dial is a few shades deeper in color than a silver dial, but not quite as dark as the typical grey dial, making for a truly wonderful and unique aesthetic. The dial remains in virtually perfect vintage condition, showing no damage or age. The tritium lume plots have achieved a charming creamy patina, under UV light inspection the 2 o'clock plot shows minor degradation while the rest of the plots remain fully intact. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly with no degradation present under UV light inspection. The metallic date wheel is original with "closed" 6's and 9's.
