1910 Omega Grand Prix Sterling Silver Racing Watch
Founded in 1848, Omega has been creating timeless and beautiful watches the world over ever since. In 2022 we naturally associate them with one of the most famous watches of all time, the Speedmaster. When we think of Omega we think of their fantastic sports watches, but we do so from almost entirely a late 20th Century frame of reference and design language. Built in 1910, this Omega sports watch shows none of that design language we so readily expect and it's all the more beguiling for it.
|Bracelet||2pc Leather Strap|
The case is sterling silver and shows all the wear and charm you would expect for a watch that predates both World Wars. It features short, slightly splayed lugs with fixed strap bars and a case hinge at 6 o'clock. With the outer case back open you see the beautiful etching on the inner silver case back. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc leather strap.
The dial is a beautiful and bright white porcelain, with printed black numerals and minute track. It is set a quarter turn to the right inside the case, giving a driver the best possible view of the dial when their hands are on the steering wheel. The dial features sub-seconds at 6 o'clock and elegant golden leaf and tapered hands.
None. The watch is keeping time, the previous service history is unknown.
