Omega
1950 Omega Automatic "Cioccolatone" 14K YG (Ref. 3950) 'Cal. 342' Silver Honeycomb Dial
The world of vintage Omega is vast. It's filled with interesting and unique references, to a degree, unlike almost any other manufacturer. This is true whether you're looking for something for racing, dressing up, diving, or any other function. Omega does it all – and does it all to the nines. Case in point, this exceptional Omega "Cioccolatone" in 14K yellow gold from 1950.
The Omega ref. 3950, more affectionately known as the "Cioccolatone", is an elegant and early automatic timepiece. The nickname comes from the square shape of the case, and directly translates from Italian to "Chocolate" in English, as it resembles a square chocolate in its wrapper. There are a few other watches that bear this nickname, along with a larger variant also offered by Omega, but most notably from other manufacturers is the Vacheron Constantin ref. 4821, though similar shapes from Patek Philippe, Universal Geneve, and have earned the "Cioccolatone" moniker as well.

The case back is also in excellent condition, showing no notable wear. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
