1950s Heuer Automatic

During the 1950s Heuer was starting to expand their offerings beyond sports chronographs and introduced more consumer-oriented watches which resulted in some very unique watches for both the Heuer brand and just in general. These watch's generally range on the smaller side as sizing standards for men’s watches in the 50s was much smaller than what we see today, however, these understated watches possess true style and handsome details.

The stylish beveled lug case is in exceptional condition showing sharp lines and finishing. The "Heuer" signed crown is a later replacement. The screw-down case back shows light tool marks and the inside of the case back is signed "Ed Heuer & Co". The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.


The dial has aged to an attractive creamy patina and displays light signs of age which is to be expected for the watches age. The radium lumed arabic numerals have taken on a dark patina and contrast the dial nicely, under U.V. light inspection the lume plots show no degradation. The original blued steel hands retain the original radium lume which has aged to a golden coloration and exhibits no degradation under U.V. light inspection.
