There was a time when alarm watches were the most functional complication a watch could have.

Released in 1957, the Ref. 7926 was the first Tudor Advisor. While other alarm watches like the Cricket and Memovox used a case with two backs to amplify sound, the Advisor used an adapted Rolex Oyster case. Unusually for an Oyster case, neither of the crowns are signed with the iconic Rolex coronet (In fact, if the crowns are original, both will be unsigned). The top crown wound, set and activated the alarm and the bottom crown wound the main movement and set the time.

Aside from the unique functionality, the watch itself is a classic and stylish piece that works in both casual and dressier environments, and would be a killer starter piece or a great addition to any collection.

CASE & BRACELET

The case has been lightly polished in the past and retains full and even lugs that show gentle signs of use. The smooth stainless steel bezel also remains in excellent condition and shows light signs of use. The case features its original unsigned crowns at 2 and 4 o'clock. The case back shows light use for its age. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The "big rose" dial features silver markers and hands, and has an aged off-white patina to it. The radium lume plots have aged to a dark brown as has the lume inside the original dauphine hands, which is common for this era. Under U.V. light inspection the lume plots shows light degradation throughout and the hands display no degradation. The red alarm hand adds a nice pop of color to the otherwise relatively monochromatic dial.

None. The watch just received a full service and comes backed by a 1-year warranty on accurate time keeping.
