Omega
1960 Omega Constellation 'Rose Gold Cap' (Ref. 14393 1 SC) Stepped Two-Tone Pie-Pan Dial
While today, the Constellation line is overshadowed by Omega's Speedmaster and Seamaster models, the striking Omega Constellation family was once the flagship in the Omega collection. Dating back to 1952, it has also been regarded as one of the most luxurious and precise watch collections offered by the brand. Add to that the fact that Constellations have always been chronometer-rated, and you have a watch that is not only stunning in nearly any setting but also incredibly accurate.
Of the many variations of the Constellation through the years, the most celebrated are those that feature pie-pan dials from the 1950s and '60s. Apart from the obvious depth the pie-pan effect creates, these watches boast beautiful marker variations and dial details. But when you add a stepped element to that pie-pan dial design, you have an even more unique and sought-after watch.
Case in point: this ref. 14393 1 SC from 1960, which is absolutely classic and incredibly handsome with that fantastic two-tone dial, gilt markers and hands, and rose gold-capped case. It would be an excellent piece to add to any collection.
