1960 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1601) 18K Rose Gold
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt.
Vintage Rolex watches cast in 18k rose gold are elusive and coveted for a reason. During this era Rolex only produced rose gold pieces as special orders and they were not standard inventory for Rolex. The rose gold creates a wonderful presence for Rolex dress models, taking the flashiness of yellow gold out of the equation while not flying too far under the radar as white gold watches can sometimes be.
We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication. This 1960 Datejust Ref. 1601 in 18k RG is in exceptional condition, retaining its original silver SWISS only "Pie Pan" dial with rose gold markers. The case is in beautiful condition and the uber-rare rose gold rivet bracelet completes the watch's look.
