It's no secret Girard Perregaux has a deep lineage within Swiss watchmaking history, unofficially forming at the end of the 17th century and formally being announced as Girard Perregaux & Cie in 1852, and during their time since have created some very worthwhile and interesting watches.

The Gyromatic movement was Girard Perregaux's in-house automatic winding system, designed in the 1950s and involving two Gyroton wheels, each of which contains 7 rubies that allowed the automatic winding system to run smoothly and without excessive wear and tear. The Gryomatic movements are highly regarded amongst enthusiasts for their reliability and accuracy.

On top of that incredibly cool movement, this piece has an especially fantastic, rich gold dial that complements the 14K case perfectly, and features chevron-shaped hour markers and beautiful sword-shaped hands.

It all comes together in a quintessentially mid-century aesthetic with a heritage brand's name in the forefront.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent 14k gold case has been lightly polished and retains wonderful and symmetrical dimensions throughout with minimal signs of use. The case retains its original domed crown. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The rich gold dial has a sense of depth and motion to it, and shows practically no signs of use or age. It features chevron hour markers with the exception of arrows at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock and an Arabic numeral 12 at the top of the dial. The lume-free dial and sword-shaped hands offer an air of simple sophistication and grace, compounded by the relative lack of writing on the dial outside of the brand and style names near 12 o'clock.
