1964 Omega Seamaster 30 (Ref. 135.007-64) Silver Dial

The Speedmaster might be the watch that made Omega a household name (and took it to the moon), but the Seamaster has been around quite a bit longer and has its own incredible legacy worth talking about.

First released in 1948 in celebration of Omega’s centennial anniversary, the Seamaster became a worldwide success and was the brand’s top seller for decades. Today, it’s the longest-running name in the Omega catalog and still holds a special place in plenty of collectors’ hearts.

The Seamaster 30 was a subcategory of the line, introduced in 1962 as a basic, "entry-level" model with a manual-wind movement and no date function. This ref 135.007-64 is a gorgeous early example, featuring a light silver dial nestled within that iconic Seamaster case design and finished with its original beads of rice style stainless steel bracelet. It was—and still is—a great way to get into the Omega game without spending a ton of cash.

CASE & BRACELET

The excellent stainless steel case exhibits minimal evidence of being previously polished in the past and shows full and even lugs with almost no signs of wear. The case retains its original "Omega" signed crown. The case back remains in wonderful condition displaying its original Seamaster engraving. The watch comes supplied on an Omega 3010 'beads of rice' bracelet with 11 end pieces which retains 22 links that show minimal stretch and will fit up to an 8-inch wrist.

DIAL & HANDS

The light silver dial is both striking and exceptional in condition, reading almost as a white dial in certain light. The tritium lume plots have achieved a mostly dark tan patina though some plots are lighter, under UV light inspection there is degradation present in most of the plots. The original handset is in fantastic condition, and the inlaid lume has aged to a lighter creamy hue that matches the lighter colored lume of the dial, under UV light inspection the hands exhibit no degradation.
