1968 Rolex Datejust (Ref. 1600) Silver Dial W/ RSC Japan Paperwork
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever made. Launched in 1945, it has remained a timeless classic, instantly recognizable as an item of advanced quality and functional design. The Datejust’s exemplary style makes it an extremely versatile choice, worn just as easily with a suit as with jeans and a t-shirt. The Datejust would make a wonderful starting point for a new vintage collector and is always a great addition to an expanding collection.

Worn with ease in any setting, the Datejust is a classic for a reason. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its understated sophistication, and this example is no exception, featuring a bright and beautiful silver dial.

CASE & BRACELET
The very crisp and thick case features strong factory dimensions and symmetrical lugs, with gentle wear and no notable evidence of prior polishing. The smooth stainless steel bezel features sharp edges with only minor wear. The original 6251H rolled-link Jubilee bracelet with 55 end pieces retains 20 links that show normal stretch for the style and age of the bracelet and will fit up to a 7.5-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original silver sunburst "pie-pan" dial is flawless, showing no age or damage whatsoever. The tritium lume plots have achieved a lovely eggshell patina and display no degradation under UV light inspection. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly, and show no actual degradation when inspected under UV light, though there are some spots of missing lume that appear to be a flaw in the factory application of the lume, rather than damage. The metallic date wheel is original with "closed" 6's and 9's.
ACCESSORIES
The watch comes with a service receipt from 1993 by a Japanese Rolex Service Center. The watch is keeping time; a movement service can be purchased upon request.
